To Be Fearless

When you're a kid you start life fearlessly. Because this big bad world is mostly unknown to you. You feel safe in your bubble and feel like nothing could destroy that. As you grow and learn the disappointing lessons, and the troublesome truth about life you become more guarded until adulthood comes and you're left with self-doubt and fear. But why do we let that happen? Well, it's mostly other people's influence and judgment that hinders us from being fearless. But what we are missing is what we are most fearful of which will set us free and help us become who we need to be. So how to overcome this obstacle ?
Confidence
Confidence is one of the most important traits in facing your fears head-on. Now I am not talking cocky, selfish, or egotistical. You need to believe in who you are and that will enable your mindset to take on larger risks and try new things. Building your confidence is a consistent challenge but achievable! So focus on your strengths, not what you feel you are lacking. Set goals that can be obtained so you can feel proud. Just small little goals to start building your self-esteem and pushing you towards self-love and confidence.
Courage
Courage is being willing to take those risks. Fearless people understand that in order to reach their goals it requires bold sometimes unconventional actions to get there. Courage is failing, yes FAILURE is courage. Listing out your fears will give you your goal list to start working towards. Fear of public speaking? Start a youtube channel! Fear of rejection, apply for the job out of your wheelhouse. Take the interview. Fear of loneliness, go eat alone at a restaurant. Be uncomfortable and risk feeling like you failed. Because if you even attempt it no matter the outcome you had the courage to try and that's all that matters!

Self Awareness
Self Awareness is knowing how your thoughts and feelings affect your behavior. Now let me unpack that. One of the best ways to create self-awareness is to journal, start small before bed and just go over your day. How did you feel? Was there an interaction you would of done differently? If so why did you react that way and now how you wanted to?
Some ways to create self-awareness are:
- Recognize a bad habit and how it affects you
- Create boundaries, create a way to alarm yourself when those boundaries are crossed.
- Finding your triggers and adjusting your reactions
- Communicating your feelings effectively
Empathy
Empathy is the ability to understand the feelings of others even if you disagree with them. Listening more than speaking. Understanding more than reacting. When you have empathy it will help you create stronger relationships and help propel yourself forward in becoming fearless. Learning from other people will create a foundation to be able to feed off their energy and push yourself.
Fear is a natural part of life. It will always be there. It's meant to boggle the mind into thinking it doesn't want to do something based on very little data. Don't let something that has no proof dictate your path!
